Merry Christmas!!

I am not sure if we really have any Christmas traditions, but if we do, we didn't really follow any of them. This has been the most unusual Christmas for my family yet. Yesterday I had a dentist appointment at 9:30am. Cavity free, but Lex's pseudo-father-in-law is still insisting that I get my wisdom teeth removed. at 11:30 we all had appointments with the optometrist where I was told my vision is not perfect, but I don't need glasses!!! Lexsea got some really cute black and pink glasses and some new contacts. After that, I got my hair cut. Josh will probably think it is too short, but I really don't care. I really like what the lady did.

We went to the Christmas Eve service and sang in the choir like usual, but after we got home and ate dinner, we opened our presents. We usually reserve present opening for Christmas morning. Since Lex and I are heading to Ames and my mom is off to Pella this morning, we decided to take care of it last night. We were thinking about opeing them Sunday night, but Lex wants to see Jeph before we leave for WI. I think Lex and I are spending the night in Ames, but I am not really sure. We are eating lunch with a bunch of our relatives in Kamrar.

I got a bunch of Pyrex stuff and some pans and Tupperware now. I am not sure where I am going to put it all. I hope I get back to my apt before my roomies do so I can figure it all out before they get back. I also got some new sheets and a couple watches. I am quite excited to get it all back to my apartment and start using it all.

I better shower now. I am supposed to be in Ames by 10:30.

I have sold another book and this time it was my most expensive one!!!!

Anyway, I am tired and I have been studying since 9:00 so it is time for bed. I want a little sleep before tomorrow's exam!

Some pictures from Josh's b-day party at Jakes.

I just sold a book!!! Yea!!!! I hope this means more of my books will sell. This could work out well. I really need to study now. I wrapped the last present I had to wrap so I can't use that as an excuse now. Anyway, I wrapped a few things for Josh tonight so I can't say I haven't done enough wrapping tonight. Gift wrapping should be out of my system now.

I just put 14 of my old textbooks on Half.com. I realy hope they sell. I sold one other book that way and I like it. I am not really sure why I have been hanging on to all these books, but I just want to get rid of them. I never use them anymore and they just sit on my shelf and I keep having to move them. I could really use some extra money right now and if they all sell I could make over $500. I doubt they will all sell, but I am hoping at least a few of them will. I would love to clear off my bookshelf.

This week on Unsolved Mysteries...

Normally I like receiving cards in the mail. I don't get them very often or mail for that matter. Today I saw a pretty purple envelope with my name written on it sitting on the hutch. There was no return address, so I was very curious. I noticed the postmark was Decorah, but I couldn't think of anyone I knew from the Decorah area. I eagerly opened it and read the front of the card. It said something about what a sister is, so I was trying to figure out why Lex sent me a card. I was thinking it might be because I let her use my car all the time. I finish reading the front of the card and open it up. It's a birthday card from someone named Sarah. I don't know anyone named Sarah, other than my roomie's friend, and I certainly don't have a sister named Sarah. I looked at the address and it says apartment 67, not 62, and is only addressed to "Chelsea." I am very confused right now. I think I will take a nap.

9:15pm

I figured it out!! There's a girl in Tacia's old apartment, 67, that is named Chelsea!!! I left the card outside her door. Mystery solved!

Now I should get back to studying.

I really want to clean my bathroom...

I can always tell that I have an assignment that I really don't want to do when I would rather be cleaning my bathroom than sitting at my computer writing a paper. I want, actually 'want' is the wrong word... I *need* to get this paper done so I can study for Friday's test in microbial genetics.

I wrapped all the presents I have, so I can't distract myself with that anymore. I love to wrap presents because it involves folding stuff. I am very anal about folding. I love it when they turn out just right.

You can't accuse me of writing my paper!!!

I really don't want to write this paper I am writing. I actually pretty much said that in the paper itself. Anyway, that is not really the reason for this post. The real reason is that I have, againk lost my tape. I just wanted to wrap one of my Christmas presents, but my tape is missing. I can't seem to keep track of it. I am constantly losing it. The funny thing is, I have three rolls of tape around here somewhere. I even found them all awhile ago and put them all in the same place. What that place is, is a totaly mystery to me now.

hehehehehe... I'm a dork. I just found them. Al three of them. I am going to wrap a present, crochet a little, and go to bed. I have to be up for class in 6.5 hours so I should get on that.

Deep Thoughts with Nic, Jo and Chels

One of the reasons I love my roommates is because of the discussions we have. We often get in very serious discussions late at night. They often revolve around politics, religion, sex, people or beliefs or some combination of them. We rarely totally agree on a subject if we agree at all. The great thing is, we may totally disagree and end up yelling and screaming at eachother, but we still all get along when it's over. I love being able to have serious discussions without having to worry about totally alienating a person.

These discussions often last hours and cover many topics. Tonight, as is our habit, we watched The Daily Show and the last segment lead to tonoight's discussion. One of out topics was what we would do if we suddenly had 10 million dollars. We discussed if we would continue to work or not, how we would spend it, and who we would spend it on. We all had slightly different opinions so it was an interesting discussion. We ended on an even more interesting discussion. We decided to move on to hypotheticals involving a choice. ONe situation was a loved one on life support. Do you leave them on life support or do you let them die? Our other situation was if you had to choose one of two people to save, which one would you choose. Our first one was husband vs. your child. From there we covered almost everyone we knew in different combinations. It was very interesting and very difficult to decide, especially for someone as indecisive as me.

Currently they are still at it, but I think I am going to head to bed. I woke up at 4am with a really sore throat and when I got up this morning it was still pretty sore. I am nursing my cup of tea and it is feeling better, but I still think sleep will do my throat good. Maybe it's a good thing I ended up teaching at tkd tonight instead of working out.

I want another cup of tea, but I know I will wake up and have to go to the bathroom if I do. I probably will anyway since I have already had two tonight.
